Is Sleeping with a Fan Directly Blowing at You, Actually Bad for Your Health ?
During the hot days can be tough without air conditioning, and some of us searching for ways to stay cool, including using a fan at night. But is it healthy to sleep with the ceiling fan or table fan blowing directly at us ?
Some recent news has made sleeping with a fan could have harmful effects. “Why Sleeping with Your Fan on Could Be Seriously Damaging Your Health,” read one recent headline. “Sleeping with a Bedside Fan Could Pose Health Risks,” read from another article source.
“There’s nothing about a fan that’s toxic,” said Dr. Len Horovitz, a pulmonologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. “There’s nothing wrong with circulating air.” Indeed, sleep is very important, and you don’t want to be sweating all night, Horovitz told Live Science.
But anything that causes rapid air movement, including a fan directly blowing at you, can evaporate moisture from your mouth and nasal passages, drying them out, he said. Fans may also be blowing dust to you directly, which could bother people, particularly if they have allergies.
If you do sleep with a fan on, it’s a good idea to keep it at a safe distance from your bed and not have it blowing right on you.
Or you can install Eco Breeze Air Circulator that can drive the whole room air cooler and circulate around without blowing directly at you.
Air circulator does not function like air conditioner and fan, which push the air in one direction. It moves the air like one big circle in a whole room space, which is very safe for your health while you are sleeping.
